ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Customer Service Representative is the main point of contact for residents and other customers accessing services at Town Hall. The role provides front line service to members of the public including processing cash receipts (billing and collection), issuing service orders, and answering inquiries in addition to supporting the operations of the Finance Department.

You are comfortable handling cash and processing a variety of transactions on behalf of the various departments of the organization. Your eye for detail and ability to handle a fast-paced work environment allow you get the job done efficiently and accurately.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma in a one- or two-year program in Business Administration, Accounting, or another related field is required.
- A combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Experience:
- Previous experience with customer service/reception in an office setting is a strong asset.
- Municipal experience is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Numeracy and cash-handling skills
- Exceptional verbal, written, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- File management, data entry, and other administrative procedures.
Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of finance procedures including procurement, accounts payable, and receivable is an asset.
- Knowledge of municipal government processes and operations is an asset.
- Working knowledge of accounting software is an asset. Familiarity with TownSuite is a strong asset.
Ability:
- Effectively handle multiple tasks concurrently and see them all through to completion.
- Frequently shift priorities to meet changing needs.
- Appraise situations quickly and adopt an effective course of action.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Terms and Conditions of Employment:
- Non-union, permanent, full time (35 hours per week)
- Location: In-person, office shall be Town Hall (60 Pleasant Street, Bridgewater NS)
- Town Hall is open to the public 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Work outside of regular office hours may be required to meet operational demands.
- Annual Salary - $46,289 - $60,176
- This position is eligible for the Town's benefit package which includes medical/dental benefits, group insurances, a defined benefit pension plan, and a flexible work policy.
