The Town of Bridgewater is currently seeking a Program Planner to join our Team at the DesBrisay Museum

ABOUT THE ROLE

Assisting with the development, coordination, management, set up and promotion of various Museum events over the summer. Events include heritage walking tours, music concerts, a heritage skills program, children’s school programs, and multigenerational hands-on workshops. Review the full job description here.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Funding is being applied for through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible applicants must be 15-30 years of age at the start of employment and meet eligibility requirements.
  • Experience or education in the fields of community development, marketing, exhibit production, theatre, communications or related field is desired.
  • Strong interest in history, art, and community engagement projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and engaging the community through various methods
  • Must complete Occupational Health & Safety training provided by employer.

 

Certification:

  • First Aid/CPR (to be provided by employer)
  • WHMIS (to be provided by employer)
  • Provides security and child abuse registry checks, as involves work with vulnerable people.

Skills

  • Familiar with local culture, including an interest in regional history and heritage.
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and engaging the community through various method

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Non-union
  • Term, 16 weeks. Starting May 12 to August 31, 2025
  • Operates out of DesBrisay Museum, 130 Jubliee Road, Bridgewater
  • 35 hours per week. Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm. There may be some occasions where working an evening would be required (special events)
