The Town of Bridgewater is currently seeking a Seasonal Labourer - I  to join our team.

About the Role

This unionized position within the Town’s Parks department provides maintenance and upkeep of all parks and green spaces including trails, sports fields, playgrounds, and their facilities as well as the Outdoor Swimming Pool and Brookside Cemetery. Please note that the start date for these positions will be in April 2026.

Qualifications: 

Education:        

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered

Certification:    

  • Valid class 5 NS drivers license is required
  • Other related certifications: chain saw safety, traffic safety, confined space, etc. are considered an asset

Experience:       

  • Previous experience with landscaping, sports field maintenance, trails maintenance, or related experience is a strong asset.

Terms of Employment

  • Wages: $22.66/hr (on April 1, 2026)

  • Status: Unionized (CUPE, Local 1092)
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 4:00pm).
  • Work is physically demanding, and the incumbent must be capable of meeting these demands including (but not limited to) standing, walking, climbing, crouching/bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, etc.
  • Work takes place primarily outdoors, and the incumbent may be exposed to adverse weather conditions including working in the heat/cold and inclement weather .
